Gay Rainbow Pace Flag | New Gay Flag
The Gay Rainbow Pace Flag is a variation of the traditional Rainbow Flag, which is a symbol of the LGBTQ+ community. It was created by artist and activist Daniel Quasar in 2018 to include black and brown stripes to represent people of color within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as pink, light blue, and white stripes to represent transgender individuals.
The flag is called the “Pace” flag, which stands for “Progress, Always, Celebrate, and Educate.” The flag includes the six traditional rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple) as well as the black and brown stripes on the left side, and the pink, light blue, and white stripes on the right side.
The black and brown stripes represent people of color within the LGBTQ+ community, who have historically been marginalized and underrepresented within the community. The pink, light blue, and white stripes represent transgender individuals, with pink symbolizing femininity, blue representing masculinity, and white representing those who are transitioning, neutral, or outside of the gender binary.
The Gay Rainbow Pace Flag is intended to be a more inclusive and intersectional symbol of the LGBTQ+ community, and a reminder of the ongoing work towards progress, celebration, and education.
